In recognition of our 150th Anniversary, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to thank the people who made it all possible – our community. Over 150 days we will be granting a number of wishes placed on Wish Trees at our branch locations. We’ve always worked to help make dreams come true. This year, we’re adding wishes.
WISH SUBMISSION PERIOD
Friday, June 15, 2018 at 8:00 AM EST – Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 4:00 PM EST
OFFICIAL TERMS
No purchase is necessary to participate. You may submit a wish for a family member, friend, neighbor – or even yourself. A “Wish Submitter” is defined as the individual who completes a Wish Tag and hangs it on the tree. A “Wish Recipient” is defined as the individual who will benefit from the wish being granted.
ELIGIBILITY TO BE A WISH SUBMITTER:
- Individuals who reside in the State of Maine for at least two consecutive months of the year; or
- Customers of Gorham Savings Bank who are not legal residents of the State of Maine.
Children under 18 are welcome to participate. Employees, officers, and directors of Gorham Savings Bank and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion or advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family are also eligible to participate.
During the Submission Period, visit any Gorham Savings Bank branch with a Wish Tree display (excluding 118 Congress Street) and follow the instructions provided at the display to complete a Wish Tag. Place the carbonless top sheet copy of your completed Wish Tag into the submission box and hang the bottom sheet of your wish on the tree. All submissions must be received by 4:00 PM EST on Thursday, November 15, 2018 to be considered. All wish submissions will remain confidential until a wish is selected to be granted. All wishes may become public at the conclusion of the program.
You may also enter by mail during the Entry Period by mailing a 3.5” x 5” blank index card with your first and last name, phone number, email address, wish details and name of the wish recipient printed on a single side to Gorham Savings Bank, Attn: Marketing Department, 1 India Street, Portland, ME 04101. All submissions become the property of Gorham Savings Bank and will not be acknowledged or returned.
WISH NOTIFICATIONS
Gorham Savings Bank will grant up to $10,000 worth of wishes each month (July through November) and up to $100,000 more in December. Wish Submitters will be notified by phone or email prior to the wish being granted. Wishes granted will be announced on Facebook and the GSB website.
If Wish Submitters cannot be reached within 14 days, their wish will be forfeited and another wish will be granted. Wish Submitters and/or Wish Recipients may be required to provide their age, address, city, state, zip code, social security number, and complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability, and, unless prohibited by law, Publicity Release upon receipt of their wish or else wish may be forfeited in its entirety. Submitting a wish constitutes permission and a waiver to use, reproduce, display and publish the Wish Submitter’s name, biographical information, image, photograph, voice and/or likeness by Gorham Savings Bank and its agents, successors, and assigns for any purpose and in any media whatsoever, whether now known or hereafter developed, throughout the universe in perpetuity, without review or further compensation to individual for purposes related to the program. By participating (including without limitation claiming any wish), all participants acknowledge compliance with and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (available in each Gorham Savings Bank branch with a Wish Tree display, as well as online) and the decisions of Gorham Savings Bank, which are final and binding in all respects. Taxes are the responsibility of the Wish Recipient(s). Whenever practical Gorham Savings Bank will grant the actual wish itself rather than issue a check for its value.
Decisions about wish recipients are final. Wish Recipients are solely responsible for the reporting and payment of any tax liabilities associated with the acceptance of their wish. Distribution of the wish will be coordinated upon notification of either the Wish Submitter or Wish Recipient. Wishes involving an item for payment (i.e. mortgage payment, car payment, tuition payment, etc.) will require necessary documentation that includes the amount and parties involved. Gorham Savings Bank will issue a check made payable to the appropriate party. Wish Recipients may be required to collect their wish at a GSB branch during normal business hours.
