State to Award COVID Relief Grants

The State established the Maine Economic Recovery Grant Program with federal CARES Act funding to provide financial relief for businesses and nonprofits impacted by the pandemic.

The grants will be awarded based on demonstrated need, not first-come first-served. The amount awarded will be based on a prorated percentage of the total cost of business interruption reported by qualified applicants. The maximum grant awarded to a business or nonprofit will be $100,000. Phase I awards were announced in mid-October.

Update: Phase II of the Maine Economic Recovery Grant Program expands access to the program. The application deadline has been extended until Thursday, October 29, 2020. Grants are expected to be awarded in late November.
