Dan Hunter has more than 30 years of experience in finance, banking, and accounting. A certified public accountant, he joined Gorham Savings Bank in 1998 as chief financial officer and treasurer. In 2003, Dan added the responsibilities of chief operating officer, with complete oversight of the bank’s finance, operations, technology, facilities, and loan servicing activities. He is also in charge of managing the bank’s investments and balance sheet.
Prior to joining Gorham Savings Bank, he was with Banknorth for nine years – five as assistant controller and four as head of commercial loan reviews. His past positions also include CPA at Deloitte Touche in southern New Hampshire for three years, where he performed audit work for banks and publicly traded companies, and three years working at a community bank as a mortgage loan officer.
Dan is currently chair of the board of The Opportunity Alliance, board member of the Westbrook Development Corporation, and a certified volunteer income tax preparer in the local CA$H program. He earned his MBA from the University of New Hampshire and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from Boston College. Dan also spent nearly three years in the Republic of Cameroon in West Africa as a member of the Peace Corps.
