Gorham Savings Bank has pledged to donate $15,000 over three years to the Pine Tree Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Camp Hinds Project. The historic Camp William Hinds on Panther Pond in Raymond hosts summer training deployments from all four branches of the military, as part of the U.S. Department of Defense Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program. Since spring of 2014, reserve troops have been working on several projects to make much-needed improvements to Pine Tree Council properties.

One of the most visible and exciting projects is underway at Camps Hinds, the construction of a new 480 seat dining facility to accommodate more campers, leaders, staff and community members. Another notable project is the construction of a STEM education center inclusive of a robotics suite for Scout science programs. Gorham Savings Bank is proud to support this initiative, so Camp Hinds can continue providing Maine’s youth with formative outdoor experiences.
